Ingredients

  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of warm water
  • 1 cup of finely chopped cabbage
  • 1 cup of ground pork
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 inch of ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

  • Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and warm water until a rough dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 15 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the chopped cabbage, ground pork, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Once the dough has rested, divide it into small balls, about the size of a large marble. Using a rolling pin, flatten each ball into a thin circle, ensuring the edges are thinner than the center for better sealing.
  • Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold the wrapper over the filling, pinching the edges to seal, making sure there are no air pockets.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of oil. Once hot, arrange the dumplings in the skillet, flat side down. Fry for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
  • Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and immediately cover it with a lid. Steam the dumplings for about 8-10 minutes, or until the pork is fully cooked and the cabbage is tender. Remove the lid and allow any remaining water to evaporate.
  • Once cooked, transfer the dumplings to a plate and serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
