1 cup of all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of warm water
1 cup of finely chopped cabbage
1 cup of ground pork
2 green onions, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 inch of ginger, grated
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of sesame oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Oil for frying
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and warm water until a rough dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 15 minutes.
In a separate bowl, combine the chopped cabbage, ground pork, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
Once the dough has rested, divide it into small balls, about the size of a large marble. Using a rolling pin, flatten each ball into a thin circle, ensuring the edges are thinner than the center for better sealing.
Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold the wrapper over the filling, pinching the edges to seal, making sure there are no air pockets.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of oil. Once hot, arrange the dumplings in the skillet, flat side down. Fry for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and immediately cover it with a lid. Steam the dumplings for about 8-10 minutes, or until the pork is fully cooked and the cabbage is tender. Remove the lid and allow any remaining water to evaporate.
Once cooked, transfer the dumplings to a plate and serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
