Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 jumbo pasta shells
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups marinara sauce

  • Instructions

  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook the jumbo shells according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, chopped basil, lemon zest, lemon juice, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir well until fully combined.
  • Using a spoon, carefully fill each pasta shell with the ricotta mixture, ensuring they're generously packed for maximum flavor.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • Place the stuffed shells in the baking dish, open side up. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the shells, ensuring they are well-coated. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
